Juan Soto's 21st birthday is the talk of Washington D.C. Friday with the Nationals hosting Game 3 of the World Series with a 2-0 lead over the Astros.
The Nationals' star got an unexpected tandem to sing him 'Happy Birthday' hours before the big game: Alex Rodriguez and David Ortiz.

Soto should hear a louder rendition during his first at-bat in Game 3, when the fans in attendance at Nationals Park help him celebrate his big day.
Ortiz has already commended the young phenom after his performance in Game 2, and sees a very bright future for the 21-year-old, who is slashing .289/.385./.556 in 12 games this postseason.

WASHINGTON - The Nationals' President Race was interrupted in Friday night's game by a baby shark, who saved the day for Teddy Roosevelt.
The other Presidents had - apparently - locked Teddy out of the race. But just as they were rounding their way to the finish line, the team's unofficial mascot jumped out and circled them. It gave Teddy long enough to pop out and win the race, much to the crowd's delight.

Not surprisingly, this is far from the only place baby shark has been at Nationals Park for Game 3 of the World Series. Numerous fans wore some form of baby shark hats and costumes.

Nationals fans provided phenom Juan Soto with a special memory in Game 3 of the World Series on Friday.
The left fielder's 21st birthday happened to be the same day as the first MLB World Series game in D.C. since 1933.
The original plan was for fans to sing to Soto during his first at-bat, but the one-pitch plate appearance didn't leave time for the crowd to get the tune going, so the left-field corner improvised.

The youngster apparently appreciated the gesture and tipped his cap at fans.
Crowd over here in left is wearing birthday hats and just sang Happy Birthday to Juan Soto. He tipped his hat. Crowd goes wild. It's only a matter of innings before they start tossing mini-bottles onto the field. I'm so happy to be here #WorldSeries

Soto's rise to stardom began in 2018, when he first entered the major leagues. Since then he's been runner-up for 2018 NL Rookie of the Year and is now a candidate for the 2019 NL Golden Glove honor, helping lead the Nationals to their first World Series in club history.
Fans weren't the only ones to serenade Soto on his birthday; Before the game, Alex Rodriguez and David Ortiz sang to the outfielder and gave him a birthday cake.
