Bill Nye the Science Guy never fails to incoporate some science knowledge to his public messages, including birthday wishes for the Washington Nationals' Juan Soto.

Soto turned 21 Friday ahead of Game 3 in the World Series, the first World Series game hosted in D.C. in 86 years. Instead of the traditional happy birthday tune, Nye reminded everyone that it takes a year for Earth to revolve around around the sun, hence the "orbital sun" reference. That's quite a different rendition than the one Soto will get at his first at bat.
Nye was born in Washington D.C., and seems especially happy to see his hometown team reaching levels he's never seen in 63 orbital suns of his lifetime.

Seen here with Trea Turner and Adam Eaton, Nye could definitely be spewing some science facts about baseball in the pregame dugout. Whether or not those Nats players remember all that knowledge is another story.

WASHINGTON-- Asdrúbal Cabrera is in the starting lineup Friday night. Howie Kendrick is not. Why?
Cabrera is the choice for Game 3 of the World Series in Nationals Park because of his history against Zack Greinke, as well as his ability to add a left-handed hitter to the lineup (he's a switch-hitter). Cabrera is 16-for-37 against Greinke. However, most of those at-bats came eight-plus years ago, when Greinke was pitching for Kansas City in the American League and Cabrera played for Cleveland.
Davey Martinez said Friday he went back to watch Cabrera’s at-bats against Greinke, as well as Kendrick’s. What he saw showed Cabrera often getting the ball into the air. Kendrick hit the ball on the ground. The video proved out the historical numbers. As opposed to broken-bat singles which end up hits, Cabrera delivered legitimate hits.
Houston arriving in a National League park forced a choice. Manager A.J. Hinch had to decide if Yordan Álvarez -- one of the Astros’ better hitters in the series -- would sit or go somewhere in the outfield. For Game 3, he will sit to start. Michael Brantley is in left, George Springer is in center field and Josh Reddick remains in right. Like Kendrick for the Nationals, Álvarez becomes a potent pinch-hitting option.
“He's going to get a really big at-bat today off the bench,” Hinch said. “And he's a good weapon to have in a National League game, for hopefully the biggest at-bat of the game if needed. He's likely to play outfield at some point. I know that's a big question.
He's not playing today, and as you know, I love talking about today's game. So I would look for him to get loose whenever I have an opportunity to make an impact.”

Soto should hear a louder rendition during his first at-bat in Game 3, when the fans in attendance at Nationals Park help him celebrate his big day.
Ortiz has already commended the young phenom after his performance in Game 2, and sees a very bright future for the 21-year-old, who is slashing .289/.385./.556 in 12 games this postseason.
